Rahab also does not lie to the king of Jericho when asked
about the spies. She just informs the king that the spies left
in the dark when it would be very difficult to see anything
properly. Her honesty could have easily got her killed. Rahab
also gives the Israelite spies one of the best advices which
ultimately save their lives. She asks them to wait in the hills
for three days before they try to cross Jordan (King James
Version Of The Holy Bible).
God used Rahab despite her sin, failures, and flaws
God chooses Rahab in spite of her flaws, failures, and
sins because of her faith. She is a harlot. Rahab's faith in God
shows her change of heart. She had been hearing about the
miracles of the God of the Israelites from the locals. The
Canaanites were scared of the Lord, but Rahab gets over her
fear. She comes to the logical conclusion that a God capable
of causing so many miracles must be the real God. Rahab
leaves her pagan beliefs aside. She puts her faith in the Lord
to save herself and her family (King James Version Of The
Holy Bible).
Women of Jericho did not find anything special about
Rahab. They did not see any special qualities in Rahab that
would get her the Lord’s favors. But, her faith in God made
her one of his most unusual heroines. She was one of the
harlots that enter the kingdom of God. Rahab risked her life
to hide the spies of Joshua and fulfill the Lord's purpose.
Even if Rahab was a new believer in the Lord, she had full
