Finding Faith In The Storm

                         Examples of Active Faith

            Ruth & Naomi

It is an enthralling moment when we grow from having faith

to using our faith. For example, Ruth, a servant of God, went
from having faith that she was a worshipper of the
monotheistic God to using her faith. According to Ruth 1:16.
Ruth being a servant of God decided that she would not

            return to pagan worship.

In life, we should allow our faith to grow to a place where
it becomes active faith. On various occasions within the
Bible, biblical characters or people failed God due to a lack

of faith. However, we see contrary actions within the book
of Ruth. The time that Ruth and Naomi spent together
allowed Ruth to see God in Naomi; therefore, Ruth longed

to be like Naomi and serve God.

Within the Book of Ruth, three women were
experiencing devastation which are Ruth, Naomi, and

Orpah; however, each woman responded to the loss of their
husband differently. During such times, for a woman to lose
her husband meant that she had lost all her resources. It
meant that she had no one to provide for her. Most people

would have looked down on these women especially Naomi
because Naomi lost more than Ruth and Orpah. Naomi lost
three men whom she loved which were her husband, and

            two sons.
