Finding Faith In The Storm
Faith Is Believing
There is one scripture that resonates with me that
demonstrates the definition of faith. Hebrews 11:1 states,
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen.” This scripture teaches me the
meaning of faith. Webster defines faith as “essential
nature.” Webster also defines substance as a “solid
presence.” When I think about the word substance, I think
about the particles, bits or pieces that are used for creating.
But most of all, I think of substance as something real;
something we can hold on to. The Bible teaches us that faith
is the essential nature or the bits and pieces of things that
are hoped for in life. Faith is believing. Before we can
accomplish any goal, or become committed to higher aims,
we must first believe in what we are doing. Faith is not only
believing but it is also having the assurance that we are
believing is Biblically correct.
Faith is believing! This is simply true. Even when you do
not see the opportunity or the way being made for a
situation to work out at its best, faith inspires you to move
along and carry on. After nearly two decades of teaching and
ministering about faith, sometimes I am yet in awe of the
various stories that I hear from those who walk in faith. I am
ongoingly encouraged by people who suffer in various areas
of life, yet they get up each morning and smile while going
through their day completing their task. The reason such
people still laugh, love, and live with unwavering joy is
because he or she is living in faith.
