Finding Faith In The Storm
Whenever we are dealing with a tough situation, we
should draw closer to God, and he will keep us. Our
response to trouble develops our faith and our walk with
God. Yes, there will be trouble in the world. Yes, we are sure
to have hardships that we encounter; however, we can
overcome. Jesus states in John 16:33, “These things I have
spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the
world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world;” It is comforting to know that Jesus
Christ overcame the world. Any pain or sorrow that we
endure, he will care for us, and he will carry such pain.
One of the most challenging experiences in life is to go
through moments of grief and feel alone. The sense of
loneliness devastates us because we feel no one cares. If no
one seems to care, we may begin to question the very
purpose of our lives and our existence. We may ask, “Why
am I here?” “What is my purpose of living?” “Is life worth
constructing, organizing, and preserving every day?” These
are questions that I have not only asked myself, but also, I
have heard others ask me. People who have failing
marriages, people who are on drugs, people who go to
church but still feel a sense of lack may feel lonely
sometimes. We must address these types of situations with
faith. An ongoing commitment to believing in God (future,
destiny, outcome) will better help us overcome current
hardships. We must believe in our hearts that heaven exists,
and that it is so much better than all that is offered on earth.
Knowing that there are better days for us not only in
eternity, but also here on earth will enable us to maneuver
through our trials. Believing is faith, and it allows us to
